Guns Save Lives

Most of you have heard about the senseless act of violence and hatred that occurred at The Ohio State University yesterday. An evil bastard named Abdul Razak Ali Artan ran his car into a crowd of people and began to cut them with a knife.  An OSU cop responded and shot him dead.

I believe in the God-given right that every human being has to protect themselves.  In this case it is obvious that a gun saved the day.  I just watched a group of mush heads from OSU on TV saying that guns would not make OSU a safer place.  What?  Why did they call the police?   A gun saved the day and probably many lives.  I believe there will come a day when guns are not necessary-I don’t believe this will happen on this side of eternity, however.  Police officers have no more of a right to carry a gun than citizens do.  The police are public servants that work for us and risk their lives for us.  Maybe we should look at citizens with guns as people that in many cases can help the police in stopping insane and violent people.  After all, there are many more civilians than cops and in most cases a police officer isn’t the closest person around when violence strikes.

Until that great day when violence ends the harsh truth is that law abiding citizens with guns make Ohio a safer place.  Blunt? Yes!  But true!

Abraham Lincoln and Turkey

Not much commentary is needed on this following piece of classic American history.  The words of President Lincoln ring as true today as they did in 1863.  Given this particular time in History that we find ourselves Lincoln’s words are prophetic and wise.

Happy Thanksgiving!  This day is special. We should not  forget those that for various reasons are away from the families they love.  Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, first responders,  the ill and those who care for them and the prisoner and the oppressed.

Washington, D.C.
October 3, 1863

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the Eighty-eighth.

Colin Kaepernick Teaches Social Responsibility (NOT)

I support the right of anyone to sit during our national anthem.  Mr. Kaepernick being able to  protest in that manner is one of the things that makes America the best country in the history of the world.  I saw a story that the Business Insider published in regards to Mr. Kaepernick not voting earlier this month.

Today I am going to exercise one of my rights:the right to call out idiocracy and ungratefulness which Mr. Kaepernhas put on public display. My readers know my love of lists so here we go:

  1. I have a simple guideline I live by when it comes to voting.  If you make a decision not to vote you should keep your mouth shut and not complain about the results of the election.  Also, in my opinion, the choice that he made not to vote sure makes his “protest” look more like a publicity stunt than a genuine protest.  Protest all you want!  However, if you don’t vote you might want to keep your mouth shut.  Imagine how different the election results would have been if people like Mr. Kaepernick would have voted.
  2.  I agree with Kaepernick that our country has many issues that need to be fixed. One of those issues is the disparity between the way many police officers deal with African American folks vs. white folks.  That is one of Mr. Kaepernick’s favorite issue to decry.   However when a man who makes millions and millions of dollars playing a game complains about a “country of oppression” and then doesn’t vote it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

So, don’t vote if you don’t want to. Give all your money away because accepting money from an oppressive organization is immoral. Also, shut your mouth and get to work on affecting change Mr. Kaepernick!

Coming Soon-The marijuana smack down!

Recently,  a popular online Christian website published an article about why teens should not smoke pot.  It was one of the most ludicrous, laugh out loud funny and journalistically dishonest pieces I have read in a long time.  Full disclosure I am a practicing follower of Jesus Christ.  Look for this article to come out sometime in the next week.

Donald Trump vs. Media

I did not vote for President Elect Trump.  I am a Libertarian and Mr. Trump and the Republican party love big government.  Sad but true.

One aspect of the forthcoming Trump administration that excites me is the way that the Trump team is hitting back and landing heavy blows to the elitist, left wing and absolutely bias media in this country.  For years I have waited for any politician, especially a right wing politician to blatantly tell the press to piss off.  By the way,  Fox News is guilty as well.  It seems as if the days of simple fact based reporting are gone.  I will be watching with my popcorn because I KNOW the media will not change AND I know the Trump team won’t stop either.  This will be kind of fun.

If you disagree with me don’t bother to complain or think crtitically about my writing because you are too stupid to understand and everything I say is true anyway.

Good Cop Bad Cop

The age of social media has been the single best tool that the citizenry can use to ensure that those sworn to protect and defend us are following all of the laws they are tasked with enforcing.  This is not an anti-cop section of this blog.  What it is is a place where cops who violate the rights of the people (the people for whom they work) will be written about and videos of the “bad” cops will be posted.  I love what good police do. They risk their lives each day in an effort to enforce  the law and protect us.  However, I do hate what bad cops do.  Bad cops that don’t respect civil rights, respect the people they work for or who use excessive force are a cancer that will spread to all cops if the citizenry do not stand up and hold them accountable.

So, send me your good cop stories, videos, etc.  Please also send me your good cop stories.
